Field Trips & Special Events

At The Learning Nest, we strive to give children enriching and special experiences. We love to explore our world through local field trips and events. From family field trips to Santa visits,  or watching caterpillars turn into butterflies, experiences are always with the children in mind.

Santa Visits Preschool

Our most recent preschool classes had the opportunity for Santa to visit preschool. Families were able to come meet Santa with the children and have professional photos taken as well. It was a memorable experience!

Fall Photos

I am extremely lucky to have a good friend(and preschool mom) that is also a photographer. I asked about doing some class photos and she was excited about the project as well!

The Little Red Barn Equestrian

In November 2024 we visited a local horse barn. I hope to make this an annual trip because it is close to home and the children had so much fun! We were able to see horses and chickens and play some games.

Fire station

Every spring we plan a visit to our local fire station. Fire safety is so important to teach our little learners and our local firefighters are amazing with the kids. Every year has been a different experience that has led to more than one friend wanting to be a firefighter when they grow up!

Clovermead

Every May we have our school field trip. This is a fun day for all preschool families(past and present) to join together and have some fun!  The past two years we have done this at Clovermead and will probably continue to go there because everyone loves it and it's a full day of adventure!

Graduation

At the end of June, each year, we celebrate our preschoolers with a graduation day. This is a fun day for children to perform a couple of songs, receive awards and share preschool with their families. We end our year with a potluck lunch and one last morning of play.
